A fine bottle that we took to dinner with another couple last night. It was bottle number 4 after consuming three terrific wines. It paired well with a wood fires mushroom and meat pizza. It still drank rather young and could have gone a couple more years for my palate but either way was a fine effort.

Described as a cool climate Syrah, there are lots of peppers and veggies in its flavor and aroma profile. Red fruits. Round soft textures. Only trace savory character. A vegans Syrah, maybe. Interesting.

Violet color with roasted dark fruit, pepper, and hints of fig and espresso aromas. On the palate, it's medium-full-bodied, and nicely balanced with great acidity, supple tannins, and baked plum, pepper, and black currant flavors. Medium -Long finish.

This is a special syrah! Chances are you haven't heard of Zotovich Cellars, Ryan Zotovich worked at Sea Smoke and Brewer Clifton before making his own wines. I really enjoyed this syrah and I am not a huge syrah guy. I am pretty sure Steve Clifton consulted on this wine as well. The wine looks Inky colored. The legs are Slow. It smells like Black currant (cassis), and Black Pepper. It tastes like Blueberry, Black Pepper, and Espresso. The body is Medium/Full. The wine has Polished texture. The wine finishes Long. I didn't pair this with anyone, just tasted by itself. I would highly recommend this and I wouldn't be surprised if Zotovich becomes a very common name in the near future, the pinots are great too!

Dark Purple in color. Nose was a bit closed. Nice dark fruit flavor profile (agree with the tart flavor from the previous note). Medium tannins with some acidity. Not an overly complex wine but pretty well balanced. Medium finish. This came across as a food friendly wine - enjoyed with a nice beef stew. I am not sure of the QPR but still an enjoyable wine.

Medium garnet red. Excellent dark fruit aroma with matching flavors supported with just the right amount of smokey texture. Medium finish.
