Really nice nose of pear, lemon and green apple. Very nice acidity in the mouth that begs for food. Finishes off with a really nice lingering finish. Very, very nice for 18 bones.

18th Annual Central Carolina Food & Wine Festival (Medallion Center, Columbia, SC.): Not typically a fan of Sauvignon Blanc that has seen oak, I am still going to give this on a thumbs up benefit of the doubt. They deserve credit for creating a rich and concentrated tasty wine that is somewhat Chardonnay like, and actually grows on you. The color is considerably golden. The nose has a surprising amount of grass, with an interesting elderberry, along with the typical aromas of tropical fruit, and even some minerals. No doubt about the oak as soon as it touches the lips. The fruit is oaked, rounded and soft. Thick and creamy enough to have seen some malo lactic, and probably some lees treatment. I don't think they left enough balancing acidity. The finish is kind of heavy with melon, vanilla, lemon, grapefruit, and more oak. Would not purchase this on purpose, but did enjoy the glass which was served pretty close to room temperature, and might have shown better with a little more chill.

admirable for squeezing out cali chardonnay richness out of SB... plenty of ripe melon, tropical fruits, but in my opinion wine from this grape varietal just shouldn't come in at 14.9% - makes it a little harsh to drink.

Great for a warm weeknight evening. Honeydew, peaches and pineapple on the nose, medium palate and tropical fruit balanced with acidity towards the fi ish. I liked the 2008 better but may have to wait a little bit before i open my other bottle.

Good wine, made in a lush, full-bodied style sporting suave grapefruit and a nice kiss of oak. Never will be taken for a NZ wine. 4-12-16-8: 90/100.

I really like this. Almost drinks like a Chardonnay. Has a little too much alcohol.
