Decided that I am not a fan of Monastrell (Mouvedre) only wines after drinking the last bottle. Was good with the chipotle-sauced pork chops I cooked yesterday, though.

Drank several weeks ago. Notes: 1.5 hour decant. Dark ruby colour, black currant, vanilla, nose a bit simple/"cheap". Palate much nicer than nose. Spicy, black fruit, but nice acidity and dusty tannins. Long layered finish. A touch sweet - lots of oak.

Big, black wine. Not a ton of structure (2 hour decant may have softened all the edges), but lots of fruit, some complexity and plenty of body. Very good value. Not for the faint hearted.

Purple colour. Black cherry, black currant, smoke, tar, vanilla, cedar. High alcohol, full bodied, med+ tannin and acid. A bit "big" . Decanted for 1.5 hours, but suggest a 3 hour decant next time.

Impressive for a $15- bottle. After 1 hour to breathe, lost its early sweet finish and had a much nicer earthy taste. More medium than full bodied. Great with a spicy Korean beef. Would definetly buy more as a great anyday wine for the house. Had more body and an earthier, better mineral flavor than the 2004 Finca Jumila. Paired nicely with spicy Korean Beef Wraps

Opened again for the 4th of July party - tasted syrupy, not much gone at the end of the night.

Great QPR but less complex than the silver label 2003. This only has 4 months in oak rather than 12. May knit with some bottle-age. Thumbs up.

Needs to breathe, reasonable, although not all that smooth, but that may be the style. Let it rest and see what happens
