Beautiful nose of black currants, blackberries, blueberries, dried figs, raisins, light oak, licorice, light tobacco, light earth, chocolates, eucalyptus, light vegetables, herbs, wildflowers, cola and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black plums, figs, dried fruits, coffee, light cedar, tobacco, chocolates, cola, vanilla, licorice, spices, light earth and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This gorgeous 18 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now.
This is a great surprise, as the cork totally crumbled, and I expected the worst, but it really delivered.
Shows nice balance, and great complexity with a velvety mouthfeel.
Easy drinking and good right out of the bottle. As it opens up, tannins come in (45 minutes), and make it more structured and interesting.
A great sipping wine to have all by itself and talk about. The nose is just gorgeous.
14.8% alcohol by volume.
95 points.
$80.

Smooth and sexy. Loads of chocolate, cocoa, cassis, lavender. I had this about a year ago and think it's in its sweet spot right now and should cruise for a few more years. Very nice showing. 91+

Light color for napa cab. Flavor profile very simple, fruit and oak. Little complexity but structure and tannins well orchestrated. Have to give respect to being well made.

Not really that interesting. Opulent nose, but without character or nuance. Very smooth and non-tannic. Felt like there are three things going on here: alcohol, oak, and fruit. They don't really come together. The last glass was moving in the right direction, so cellar time and decanting might be in order to make the best of it.

I think this is a considerable improvement over the 2004. We have a dark ruby color that is a little light for a Napa Valley Cab. Nice cherry and cedar on the nose. Blackberry, cassis, and mocha on the palate. Medium bodied, especially for a cabernet. A little short on the mid palate. Plenty of tannins coat the mouth and interfere with the flavors. Fair amount of oak which along with the tannins need some time to integrate. Nicely balanced acidity and alcohol. Very nice French oak/mocha finish.

Always fun to come and try a bottle with some age on it. This has matured nicely.

This was a 1.5 liter bottle, I opened it up 3 hours before we drank it. I aerated and decanted it. it was great.

Big and modern with obvious fruit and oak. A bit hot throughout. Not really my style preference.

Fruit driven with quite a bit of vanilla on the palate. Nice nose coupled with a medium finish. Good wine albeit nothing spectacular.
