Even though this is past its peak maturity, it was really quite delightful with racing acidity and tertiary notes that are reminiscent of aged Bordeaux. Fatty food definitely helped tone down the acid, but there was still a decent amount of red and black fruits lingering in the background. Was best around hour-3. No need to hold for any longer.

Jules' bottle. The nose on this is odd to me - vegetal and woody with some fruit - plummy. Palate is much better with good deep fruit, blue, herbal-eucalyptus. Really nice and balanced. Nose - 4/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15/20.

Purchased on release and stored in a passive cellar. Bright red with vibrant color and no sign of age. The nose is lush and rich with sweet oak aroma and ample dark fruit. The first sip showed the tannens fully resolved, a heavy viscus mouth feel, and moderate acidity. I expected that I might have waited too long but I was pleasantly surprised.
