Garnet red with a slight tinge of purple. The nose is ripe with vanilla spice and cherry. Palate is all fruit and a little thin in the mid palate, but finish is decent.

Opened last night and had just one glass. Tart, sour cherry. Very thin. Every sip was a little different though, some certainly better than others. Definite funk on the nose. Short, short finish. Will see if there is any improvement tonight.

Lots of tartrate again on the cork. Wasn't as good as the last bottle of this we drank. Still dark in color and light on the palatte. Had some meat (bacon?) on the nose.

Light and fruity, but not too much so. This is the second bottle I've drank, the last coming in July 2007, and it has definitely smoothed out over time. Can't wait to see how the last two bottles fare.

Earthy, green vegetables, wet bark all hit my nose. Don't think the bottle was corked, just not filled with ripe fruit. This green style is not to my liking.

Drank with dinner over the course of an hour. Paired with a roast rack of lamb. This was a bit of a fruit bomb, and quite alcoholic. It was served warm, so that's not a surprise. Medium bodied, relatively long finish, but a bit harsh. Decent pinot, but needs more time in the bottle.

I ranked this last of twelve; the group ranked it eleventh; so by any yardstick not popular. Purple red colour with a mossy, vegetal nose, not entirely attractive. Tart, green and unripe in summary. More than once King Estate has failed to satisfy. To my mind somewhat of an industrial scale producer without a particularly geographic characteristic. Avoid.

Quick note. Dark ruby color. Palate tart and lacking fruit intensity. Finish clipped
