We always keep our eyes and ears keen for undiscovered vineyards with compelling terroir and exceptional potential. The Basilisk is a new star from one of these magical places we discovered in the Russian River in 2007. It is a slide-inducingly steep rocky hillside, daily basking in the sun from its southern aspect – the intriguing combination of a warm site in a cool region.

Russian River, 100% Grenache
This is our second vintage of the Basilisk - Grenache which is planted on a super-steep, very rocky hillside in the Russian River. This is a high-toned Grenache with intense purity. The aromatics are focused - wild strawberry, kirsch, orange blossom, slate, black tea, rose petal, crushed white rocks. The palate is focused - a core of raspberry coulis, floral notes, and exotic spices framed by fine, plush tannins and a long finish. It will reward patience. 65 cases produced.
