Winemaker's comments: This is the third release of Roussanne from Brown Brothers and was developed in our kindergarten winery. The grapes for this wine were grown in Central Victoria and following fermentation spent 8 months in one year old French oak barriques.
Roussanne's most noticeable – and attractive - trait is its haunting aroma, a little like that of a particularly refreshing herb tea. This brisk freshness to the nose combines with acidity that allows Roussanne to age gracefully.
However, to express itself fully and elegantly, it needs to reach maturity. The wine is a vibrant straw colour with aromas of apricot, almonds and interwoven oak. The nose follows through to the palate which has a rich mouth feel and a crisp, lingering finish
The wine is a brilliant straw colour, with aromas of complex tropical fruit and melon. The aromas follow through to the palate which is full-bodied and complex with balanced acidity and a long finish.
