This wine shows a deep black cherry color. In the nose there are hints of leather, violets, pepper and a touch of smokiness. A medium to full-bodied wine with excellent balance, structure and firm tannins that shows great complex layers of bacon fat, black cherry, and sarsaparilla followed by velvety tannins with a long, lingering finish. As in prior years this wine takes some time to show its best. Cellaring for a few years is recommended. If drunk sooner, a vigorous splash decanting is recommended. Approximately 203 cases produced.
