"Deep ruby red/purple color. Beautifully fragrant nose of redcurrant and black cherry with fresh mint, violet and light balsamic background notes. Opens to blackcurrant, cocoa powder and graphite with a hint of bay leaf. Initially tight and youthful palate, with aeration pure cassis and kirsch flavors emerge with forest floor, wood smoke and tobacco side notes. Maintains great mineral freshness despite its natural concentration and power. Firm tannic backbone provides great aging potential.
A superb follow-up to its wonderful 2006 predecessor, our new LMV Salon release offers solid aging potential of fifteen to twenty years. This multi-dimensional wine provides a complete, complex and wholly integrated snapshot of our remarkable Estate property, such that once again it's the vineyard that dominates the aromas, flavors and structure of the wine and not its individual varietal components. Furthermore this release is strongly indicative of our preference to blend different grape varieties, clones, soil types and maturity levels to create something which is finer, more nuanced and with greater elegance than a straight varietal bottling. It's these characters that take this wine to the next level and is the reason why we love to compare and contrast this bottling to its Solari brother with its more dominant Cabernet component."
