This is a very focused wine. The prevailing fruit qualities are luscious ripe currants and dark cherries. Coming in behind these fresh fruit aromas are dynamic darker tones like black tea, chocolate, and toasted oak. I love the mouth feel of this wine – it’s very smooth and connected from the entrance to the finish. The tannins are supple and soft. The acid is present but not front and center; it gives this wine life and energy. These are the characteristics that Red Mare Wines aspire to. This wine pairs especially well with a hearty winter stew or a good steak. Stay tuned on how to get a recipe developed specifically for this wine.
