Meriggio is a rare white Super Tuscan, and it puts a decidedly delicate, sapid spin on Sauvignon Blanc. Aromatic, elegant, and herbaceous, this dry white wine layers its aromatic white-flesh fruits with crushed minerals, all conveyed on a textured, intense palate that’s animated by bright acidity and thrumming minerality. Deriving from Fontodi’s organically tended, north-facing La Rota vineyard, this wine’s Sauvignon Blanc grapes ferment in temperature-controlled stainless steel, and the wine ages on the lees for six months, also in stainless steel. Just over 650 cases made each vintage.
