The name LUNA BEBERIDE comes from Alejandro and Merche´s surnames. More than thirty years ago Bernando the father added the talent and spirit, and Merche the mother the trust and sleepless nights. They also relied on Fernando, the brother-in-law who also gladly helped.

Nowadays LUNA BEBERIDE is a winery with more than 80 hectares of land. It has come a long way but they know that they can always develop, learn and watch closely every stage in the vineyard.

Alejandro always says that all he wants is the wine to be liked, he does not mind the reason, it could be because of its fruit or minerality…but the most import thing is it must be enjoyed.

LUNA BEBERIDE winery is based on the native varieties of grapes Godello and Mencía, planted in vineyards on southern slopes of the Bierzo valley. Their wine includes features provided from the earth; clay soil at a moderate altitude determines the fruitfulness of the Mencía grape, the lime in clay soil adds complexity and slaty soils situated at an altitude of 800m adds minerality and diversity, all this found in fresh and elegant wines. You can sense El Bierzo in them.
