It broke my heart not to make a Merlot in 2009, but the vintage didn’t give us the extra layer of sexy that we need to bottle a wine as a Bevan Merlot. This small lot cuvee is what helps me get over it. It is half Merlot and half Cabernet Franc. The Merlot portion of the wine reminds me of a Fudge-sickle on a hot day as a kid. It washes over every part of your palate. Then the Cabernet Franc kicks in, providing weight and concentration. It is plush and has an extra handful of sweet lovin'. This wine should be shared with a loved one and candles.
