2012 Cullen Vineyard Chardonnay

This wine is the first release of our ‘little brother” Kevin John Chardonnay, which we have named the Cullen Vineyard Chardonnay.

It is harvested from grapes produced on the same vines as the Kevin John and is vinified in the same way. This wine differs, however, from the Kevin John in that it is made from the second pressings of grapes grown on these old low yielding vines and that the wine was fermented in two year old oak. Fermentation using 100% indigenous yeast and the avoidance of additions has produced a multifaceted wine that is already drinking beautifully and can thus be enjoyed immediately.

The Cullen Vineyard Chardonnay is light straw in colour and displays a very attractive combination of white peach, lemon and pear on the bouquet. The palate, which is amazingly complex for such a young wine, has a long and silky finish.

We are very excited about this new release and hope that you will also enjoy its very appealing characters.
