Harvest
All grand crus grapes are hand picked.

Balance
At the time of harvest Tokay Pinot gris Steinert Grand Cru stood at 14.2% vol. It has 13.4 g of residual sugar per litre.

Tasting notes
Beautiful deep golden yellow.
The nose is already in full bloom, showing superb aromatic complexity with dominant notes of glacé pineapple and pear, dried apricot and hints of toast on an agreeably fresh background.
The flavour is fat, rich and well-structured, it displays plenty of volume and mellow richness with a slight but very welcome and refreshing hint of acidity that is typical of the limestone soil predominating in Steiner.
The finish is powerful but silky with remarkable breadth, emphasized by its aromas of honey and gingerbread.

Wine and food
This heady, full-bodied, characterful wine could easily replace a red wine with meat dishes, pâté, roasts, game or poultry.
It would be an absolutely superb match for foie gras.
It is also marvellous with fish in sauce or smoked fish, and also with lobster.
Firm-fleshed sea fish, fillet or saddle of venison, foie gras also make good partners.
Try it with a salad of foie gras, pear, fig, chestnuts, cranberries, baby turnip and carrot.
French cheeses such as beaufort, comté and partially matured goats cheese are perfect for this sumptuous wine, as are sauces made with Gorgonzola.

How long can I keep It ?
It is ready to drink but may be kept for many years more.

Serving temperature
Tokay Pinot gris should be served cool at 10 to 12° C.
