South of the LÖHRER BERG we find the loose loess clay of the KÖNIGSSCHILDS, which is interspersed with shell limestone. It is thanks to the looseness of the soil that the old roots of the Riesling vines, following the deep seeping water, work their way into the ground up to 15 meters deep.

Especially when they are young, the Rieslings smell wonderfully playful and floral. In terms of taste, the wines appear polished, soft and elegant. The name is probably due to its affiliation with the Ingelheimer Kurpfalz, the winter residence of Charlemagne.
