2014 Turley “Estate Vineyard” Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
This wine is pure, organic, single-vineyard estate Napa Cabernet Sauvignon—not a statement that can be made by many! Planted in 1989 on the volcanic and alluvial soils found in northern Napa Valley, this vineyard forms the eastern border of the Turley estate and is framed on two sides by ancient, majestic oak trees. The 2014 Estate has all the markings of a classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Ripe red berries and fragrant forest fruit abound on the nose, matched on the palate with smooth, fine-grained tannin. The wine is an elegant expression of the Estate vineyard, balancing sweet spice with savory herbs, flavors that are elongated by the smooth texture and long, graceful finish. Immensely enjoyable now, and can easily age over the next 5 to 10 years as well.
