Located 1km up Thompsons Lane from the winery in Merricks, Windmill vineyard occupies an enviable protected north facing slope on deep red basalt soils. The 2018 vintage (made using 20% whole bunch ferment) has produced a bold and generous expression of Windmill Pinot Noir, with intriguing herbal twiggy spice aromatics complementing a generous fruit flavour spectrum of raspberry through to red and black plum. The wine was bottled without filtration.
