In a departure from its historical dominance of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Rendezvous features our best block of Cabernet Sauvignon. With an emphasis this year on gentle handling of the fruit and delicate extractions, akin to that required for steeping green tea, we attentively captured the roundness and silky, fine grained tannins we envision for Rendezvous. The resulting wine is confident and poised, displaying a savory black currant core framed by notes of anise, graphite and tobacco that longer across a velvety backbone. It should drink beautifully now through the next 7-9 years.
