Winery: "Our youngest zinfandel vineyard at 40 something years of age, it usually shows the least complexity upon release of any of our zinfandels. However, give it a couple of years and voila, brightness and excitement. If I had to guess why, I would venture to guess that it is because it is 100% zinfandel and, unlike our older vineyards with the small percentage of other varietals to add spice and complexity, it requires the additional age to get there."
