WHO IS THE SCOOTER?
The Scooter was named after Sparky, who raced a big tyre scooter when he was younger.
TASTING NOTES:
Fragrant and silky smooth, the 2019 Scooter charms the senses with a nose full of cherries and forest fruits. Fresh plum and sweet berries delight on your first sip, before giving way to spices reminiscent of nutmeg and cinnamon. Finely poised and balanced, the 2019 Scooter’s delicate tannins allow complexity, making this Merlot an absolute treat.
TECHNICAL NOTES:
The grapes were grown on the Long Gully Road vineyard in McLaren Vale. Barrel fermented and matured in 93% American and 7% French oak, using 33% new, 44% one year old and 23% two year old barrels.
The required Marquis Fruit Weight™ for the Lefty Series is 65% – 75%. The Actual Fruit Weight for 2019 The Scooter is 66%.
