2019 Papera Ranch Heritage Wine, Russian River Valley
Planted in 1934 at the junction of Piner and Olivet Roads in Russian River Valley, Papera Ranch is one of the most famous old vineyards in the Russian River Valley. We are fortunate to work with the diverse Block 6, which features a healthy dose of Carignan along with nearly a dozen other mixed varieties (Putzscheere, anyone?). As is typical of this area, this wine is defined by the rich, blue fruits of Russian River Valley layered over the tensioning raciness of cool-climate Carignan. This is a classic Papera and will bring a lot of pleasure over the next decade or so. A true grand cru of the Russian River Valley. $42
