Tasting note
Dense violet-red in color. The bouquet has ripe cherries, dark berries, coffee aromas, hints of wild herbs. Complex, aromatic, noble on the palate with great freshness. Velvety tannins, well integrated. Great play of aromas and fine flint minerals. The finish has a surprising length with a fine fruity finish. The expansion is finely balanced, which shows Patrick Lesec's high level of artistry. Ready to drink 2023-2033.

Carbonic maceration is a form of whole-bunch fermentation, when whole bunches of uncrushed grapes are fermented, with little to no crushing, or breaking of the grape skins. One of the main advantages of ‘carbonic’ is that it produces wines that are lower in tannin, and fruit-forward. Lesec’s natural tendency for a hands-off approach, with as little ‘tampering’ as possible, sees this '19 'Galets Blonds' showing hints of carbonic, with a silkiness to the tannins, and bright, juicy black cherry notes to boot!

A sensational ruby colour, bright and alluring. The wine brings ripe black cherry, pomegranate, and a gentle dried herb spice aroma. Hints of rosemary, black pepper and tobacco extend past the initial fruit-forward palate, to finish. An already delicately silky wine, the high natural acidity will ensure this wine will age for a further 5+ years easily. It’s best to decant for 30+ minutes prior to your drinking enjoyment – for the ultimate drinkability and elegance.
