Deep ruby on the pour with a translucent core, the nose is redolent and immediate with chocolate-covered cherries, menthol, and eucalyptus with red fruits buried down deep within the core – this is the baby of a beast. The palate is exceptionally balanced, with excellent acidity, black cherry, bramble, and fresh-turned soils framed by small velvety tannins. The finish is long, reaching for cassis, vanilla, and soft leather, but settling into waves of earthy umami – an exceptional expression of Old World blending with New World fruit.

Cam Confidential
Lot 695 is a “shiner” (bottled wine with no label) lot we picked up that’s already spent years in the cellar and is ready for prime time. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet, Cab Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec from vineyards in St Helena, Oakville, Diamond Mountain, and Rutherford, the wine is literally a greatest hits collection of Napa Valley’s top sub-regions. Artfully blended by outstanding winemaking talent and aged in 100% French oak for two years before bottling, it’s an absolutely sublime bottle and a worthy rival to its Right Bank counterparts across the pond.
