Winery note: The bounty of 2005 left Gaye and I with an unbelievable wealth of barrels from which to select Bel Canto. We chose 12 barrels that fully express the undeniable character of the vintage, the power of Red Mountain, and our passion for the art of blending. The nose is explosive, leading with cocoa, roses, fruit and spice. These inexorably spread through the palate, and build in a dark wave of finely wrought tannins that will gracefully unwind for years.
