2006 Domaine Lafage Chardonnay Novellum

Our perfect ten dollar Chardonnay used to be a Macon-Villages, but we’re not seeing many in that price range anymore. So this month we return to Novellum, a Chardonnay sourced by importer Eric Solomon. Previous vintages of Novellum came from the Languedoc. The 2006 release is made at Domaine Lafage in the Côtes Catalanes. Like Lafage’s Côte Est it is an aromatic delight. This oak free white is full-bodied and rich in tropical fruit flavors with a dry finish. It should be a good match with spicy Thai food.
