Producer website Sobon winery, in the Shenandoah valley of Amador County, is noted for using sustainable farming techniques, minimal sulfites (addition of between 3 and 15 parts per million to the 8 to 12 parts per million that are naturally occurring in wine), and being carbon-negative (they sell carbon offset credits to other industries). The winery was founded in 1977 by Shirley and Leon Sobon, and is now run by their sons, Paul (winemaker and vineyards operation manager) and Robert (business systems manager).
