The nose has vanilla and nuts. The high point of the tasting was the rush of warm nut flavor when I first took the wine in my mouth. Very little fruit and nothing else. Shallow mouth, no finish.
The one good thing I can say about this is bottle is that if you are trying to educate someone's palate, someone who has grown up with the standard fortified kosher wines, this might make a good transition point.

Wow! The nose when we first opened this was a chocolate BOMB! Seriously, I've never smelled stronger chocolate on a wine. Full mouth was delicious. Now 4 hours later the nose is rich with warm hay, but no chocolate. The chocolate has moved to the finish, subtle, but it's there. The mouth is complex, fruit is laying low with herb - bay leaf?- notes above it. No overt oak and very little tannin. A touch of tannin makes me think it has promise for more aging.

Beautiful golden color. When we opened this for lunch, the nose was full of grapefruit supported by caramel. Grapefruit is rich in the mouth, rounded out with herbal tones. Tonight (about 4 hours after opening) the caramel is gone from the nose, replaced by a warm earthiness.
