Bright acidity. Moderate tannins. Lingering berry skin, tobacco, herbs, clove, and star anise on the long finish. Deep, gutsy, complex, structured, and with superb balance and intense focus. Pair with dry-rubbed BBQ pork ribs, smoked beef brisket, lamb chops in demi-glace, char-grilled marinated flank steak, lamb saag, or bleu cheese with fruit chutney. Drink over the next 3-5 years.
