Tasted by Anthony Chinn on 1/13/2013 & rated 90 points: Full package here. Lots of fruit -- pear, citrus, honeysuckle. Enough mineral to add some complexity. Long finish. (4384 views)
Tasted by James.sparaga on 2/4/2012 & rated 90 points: A bright honey gold. Bright aromas of crème, honeysuckle, and steely mineral stone fruit and citrus. On the palate the wine is creamy with a viscosity more akin to honey and toffee than to rich butter. The acidity is lively and the fruit is very pleasant, with consistent mineral tones. Very balanced, with everything culminating in a pleasant finish---very good to excellent. Went well with my paella. (5160 views)
Tasted by jstroima on 1/15/2012 & rated 89 points: Great full body chard. Even balance and great finish (5295 views)
Tasted by pmk on 6/20/2011 & rated 89 points: apple, pear and tropical fruit to start, minerality and acidity to follow, ending with spice and a strange slight tartness when first opened, which fades with time. (2634 views)
Tasted by paulst on 11/27/2010 & rated 88 points: Light with some lemon peach. A bit of heat noticable. A bit unbalanced. (2354 views)
Tasted by cvidano on 9/15/2010 & rated 90 points: Nice. Crisp with great balance of oak, apple, lemon. (2559 views)

Tasted by MattMauldin on 7/3/2010 & rated 92 points: A bright honey gold. (2795 views)
Tasted by ngtivspace on 5/6/2010: Pretty lime meringue & soft peach aromas that give way to something slightly more tropical in the mouth. There's a warm, toasty quality that clings on for dear life at the end. (810 views)
Tasted by brownman6 on 4/8/2010 & rated 88 points: wife drank and described as nice. (3080 views)
Tasted by mmurry on 3/27/2010 & rated 89 points: Big Brand vs. Boutique (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had beeswax and honey, peach, and some crushed rock towards the end. The palate had slight buttered popcorn taste on the front-end, but added pear and stone. It finished with a slight honey flavor. (3226 views)
Tasted by RedLoverJim on 3/27/2010 & rated 89 points: Farpointe Saturday (Farpointe Cellar): Buttered popcorn coats the mouth. This dissipates with a little air in the glass, but remains dominant. Well balanced for the heavy oaking, fans of the style will like it, but not my style. (3366 views)
Tasted by wineismylife on 3/27/2010 & rated 90 points: Saturdays at One - Volume 15: WIML90+

Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of lemon zest, verbena and pineapple. Flavors of pers, lychee, lemon and a hint of vanilla. Medium acidity and body. Drink over the short term. (3369 views)
Tasted by ChasDSM on 3/20/2010 & rated 85 points: Typical Cal Chard...pale gold; nose of too much oak and vanilla and some faint pear. Oak and vanilla on the palate as well, but less so than the nose would lead you to expect. Not sickeningly buttery like some Cal chards. Toast and apple flavors come through later, but don't last. (2855 views)
Tasted by Jr@cwc-chemical.com on 2/23/2010 & rated 89 points: Nice oak (3007 views)
Tasted by Wine Spam on 2/14/2010 & rated 86 points: Clean and fairly simple chardonnay. A bit of oak and buttery character, but not overwhelming. Moderate acidity. Drink now with a simple meal. (2988 views)

Chardonnay

The Chardonnay Grape

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
