Tasted by innesa on 11/7/2021 & rated 90 points: Bright pale yellow straw. Nose of kiwi, lychee, citrus. Lemon, lime, green grass, herbaceous. Good acidity, short finish. Clean lean and taught. (1895 views)
Tasted by Z1nnfull on 10/18/2020 & rated 90 points: Not a fan of Sauv Blanc but this may have changed my mind. This entry level wine was excellent and despite the austerity you get with the grape, the lemon grass and minerality is just so enjoyable and translates nicely from the nose to the taste. Went perfectly with fresh macadamia nut-encrusted/coconut milk mahi-mahi. Definitely would buy again, a click better than Kim Crawford. (2816 views)
Tasted by Michal A on 9/29/2020 & rated 92 points: Like it again. Nettle and passion fruit name of the game. Deicious (2768 views)
Tasted by Michal A on 8/10/2020 & rated 92 points: Love this. Super delicious. Exotic fruit but also complex minerality. (2627 views)
Tasted by mietono on 7/31/2020 & rated 86 points: Pale yellow with citrus nose. Crisp, bright, green apples with mineral notes. Chilled and its a good drink in a hot evening. (2138 views)
Tasted by Tinah on 5/7/2020 & rated 75 points: Cat pee, wet carpet, the memory of fruit. Far past it’s prime. (1909 views)
Tasted by asgerG on 3/30/2020 & rated 89 points: PnP. Pale metallic yellow. Rather one dimensional green notes of blackcurrant leaves. Harmonious palate, not totally dry. Drink now. (1619 views)
Tasted by Bordeaux 2013 on 3/28/2020 & rated 92 points: Need to totally change my rating of this wine. Now with more age just a very nice, balanced, refreshing sauvignon blanc with particularly strong green apple flavours. (1497 views)
Tasted by kevin h on 12/5/2019 & rated 89 points: As before. (2072 views)
Tasted by Neecies on 11/11/2019 & rated 94 points: Gooseberry and lemongrass with considerable depth and length on the finish, a wine that reminded me why Cloudy Bay was such a hit in the American market in the first place--Dagenau-ish--though there was a dull stretch in the intervening years. (2189 views)
Tasted by Vino Me on 9/23/2019 & rated 91 points: Haven't had this wine since the 2010 vintage. 3% of the wine is aged in used french oak. 2.4% RS. The quality I remember is still there. Crisp and clean with notes of grass, grapefruit and citrus. 91 points. (2270 views)
Tasted by francesco45 on 8/22/2019 & rated 90 points: Un sauvignon blanc assez unidimensionnel, mais sa fraîcheur minérale et les notes d'agrumes en font un bon apéritif d'été. Un peu cher néanmoins. (1827 views)
Tasted by kevin h on 7/12/2019 & rated 88 points: I will long remember the revelation that was Cloudy Bay in the early nineties, never had anything like it back then. Now this tastes like any NZ SB, one dimensional grapefruit on nose and flavour. Disappointing. (2066 views)
Tasted by mwneil on 7/7/2019 & rated 88 points: Tart, light,a bit earthier than most MZ sb’s, good fruit, but lacked something, might drink again but pricey. (1678 views)
Tasted by ChinonRouge on 7/2/2019 & rated 90 points: Excellent New Zealand Sauvignon blanc. I really enjoy the light minerality of this wine. There is zero "ick" on the back end, unlike some other Sauvignon blancs--California are you listening? This wine works for me. Definitely recommended. Wish it was cheaper though. (1723 views)
Tasted by jmottern on 5/7/2019 & rated 91 points: Excellent medium body wine. Vanilla fruit with a slight hint of lemon. Very pleasant finish. (1770 views)
Tasted by JRavn on 4/26/2019 & rated 88 points: great Cloudy Bay with perfect balance (1639 views)
| Tasted by stayhappy21 on 4/12/2019 & rated 88 points: Brought this to SaLe Marino to share with a close colleague.
Pale straw in colour. Paired this with the cold cuts, squid salad and carbonara and seafood stew. The grapefruit and pink guava on the nose is unmistakably an awesome New Zealand Suavignon Blanc. Lush, balanced with moderate fresh acidity, this wine delivers at the right places and right notes.
Although past vintages have fared better in terms of quality, the name Cloudy Bay still revokes images of reliability, consistency and quality. This wine did not disappoint. (1668 views) |
| Tasted by evanqian on 4/9/2019 & rated 89 points: fresh acidity, passionfruits and a little mineral notes. disappointing watery finish.

Tasted by Drewski1975 on 4/2/2019 & rated 90 points: Bitter Apple, citrus and graphite - very nice bottle. (1619 views)
Tasted by Bordeaux 2013 on 3/22/2019 & rated 87 points: Disappointing for the great name, quite casual. Wondering if other vintages have more to offer. (1426 views)
Tasted by AJGalvin on 2/26/2019 flawed bottle: Based on the other ratings for this wine, I must have simply had a turned bottle. Because the subtle scent of grapefruit and other citrus is overwhelmed by the smell of cat pee (after a healthy dose of asparagus). Very sour, which could have been enjoyable with the right pairing, if not the noted flaw. (1580 views)
Tasted by Kokopele on 2/8/2019 & rated 89 points: Light lemon zest on the nose with a hint of peach n pineapple. Refreshing taste and lingering finish. (1225 views)
