Community Tasting Notes (average 89.3 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 6 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by paintinginacave on 6/13/2020 & rated 86 points: Limited notes taken. Two hour decant. Garnet fading to a brick red outer edge. Black fruit, blackberries, blackcurrant, cassis, and black cherry on the nose. There's a slightly resinated red fruit characteristic on the palate with dried red flowers, dried herbs, liquorice, dill, and baked earth. (615 views)
Tasted by Wuhan Joe on 2/21/2019 & rated 89 points: Brambles, leather, oak and, after breathing for a couple of hours, hints of vanilla and toast. Medium bodied and very dry. Great acidity and good tannins give a long satisfying finish. Went well with roast lamb. (893 views)
Tasted by mwanasheria on 5/5/2011 & rated 90 points: Plum, cherry, some vanilla and oak. (2861 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 10/30/2009 & rated 91 points: Bricking dark red violet color with pale meniscus; nice dried berry, charcoal nose; dried berry, plum, mineral palate, a little tight yet; medium finish 91+ pts. (937 views)
Tasted by The Drunken Cyclist on 12/4/2008 & rated 88 points: Surprisingly nice, given the age. Still some nice fruit on both the nose and the palate. A little thin, but good. (3183 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
