Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 86.8 pts. and median of 87 pts. in 6 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Cantina Hill's on 4/1/2012: excellent. perfect with cheese crackers and relaxing, not as vegetal or green pepper as I expect from Loire. (2711 views)
Tasted by marcellevi on 9/7/2011 & rated 87 points: A little thin, even for a C.F. Needs time to open up. (3031 views)
Tasted by Henman on 9/16/2010 & rated 87 points: Very discreet on the nose with some light peppery and fruity notes.Light bodied palate with liquorice, bell pepper, dark fruit and a tiny hint of barnyard.Firm and smooth tannins.Pretty elegant but perhaps a little diluted with a shortish finish.Pleasant and easy drinking though. (3489 views)
Tasted by Mige on 9/6/2010 & rated 87 points: It had on the nose some sweet notes of cherry and bell pepper. Taste was light bodied with very little acidity and hardly no tannins. There were hints of herbals and some red berries, like lingonberry and cranberry. It was very nice to drink without any food and to taste what 100% Cabernet Franc tastes like. (3880 views)
Tasted by avp on 8/31/2010: Quite a textbook nose with notes of red- and blackcurrant, bell pepper, pencil shavings, leather (as well as some manure), oak spice, a hint of chocolate and some leafy characteristics.
Rather lightbodied with refreshing acidity and some tannin bringing structure. Aromatically in line with the nose, but also giving some herbal bitters -feel and a touch of liquorice. Clean finish with medium length.
This is an easy-drinking and food-friendly light Chinon. And I like it. (3697 views)
