Expressive nose with raisins, candied sour cherries in sugar syrup, bitter chocolate and some va. Medium to full-bodied, totally dry compared to other Amarones, firm tannins and high acidity. Good length. At a nice stage to drink but can age further.

Dark garnet. The nose is reminiscent of a sweet wine with obvious va, cherry and sour cherry jam, coffee, sweet spices, chocolate and undergrowth. Medium-bodied, totally dry despite the sweetness of the nose, balanced, elegant and long. At peak. 93-94.

Dark ruby-garnet. Stunning nose with sage, liquorice, candied cherry in syrup, chocolate, mint and noticeable but nicely integrated oak. Full-bodied with firm tannins, high acidity and a long aftertaste. Blind could pass for a top Aussie shiraz.

It is obvious that this comes from a top vintage. Port-like nose with raisins, coffee, chocolate and wild cherry jam. Full-bodied with amazing fruit, power combined with finnesse and complexity and very long aftertaste. A masterpiece.
Very dark, opaq. Quite restrained but fantastic nose of sweet oak, sweet tobacco, blackberry fruit, liquorice, dark cherry and sweet spice. Although the aromas described above are quite common, their combination results in a unique bouquet. Full-bodied with massive but juicy tannins, big fruit and a very long aftertaste. Still a baby, but a future classic. Fantastic 25th anniversary packaging.
Very dark opaq. Blackberry, spicy and sweet oak with cinnamon and vanilla on the nose. Full-bodied with firm tannins, high fruit concentration and balancing acidity. Long aftertaste. Quite young, will improve after 3 to 5 years of cellaring.
This was simply fabulous! Stunning nose of cedar, capsicum, red and dark cherry, cassis and floral scents. Medium to full-bodied with an amazing combination of power and elegance, firm but fine-grained tannins, balancing acidity and a long aftertaste. Despite my respect for the wines of this producer, I was nearly schocked to taste such a masterpice from them. On par with a top Napa cab. 67% cabernet franc and 33% cabernet sauvignon. Not commercially available, only 3 casks were produced and just 4 bottles were sent to Oenocosmos, their Greek importer who had the kindness to share one of them with us during their annual wine show. Fortunately, one of the remaining 3 is resting in my cellar. Given the tiny quantity, one might imagine that I paid a fortune for this, bot no! I bought it for around 50 euros, so nowhere near the cult cali cab insane pricing.
Dark purple. Expressive nose of chocolate, luxurious oak, blackberries, sour cherry jam, sweet spices. Full-bodied and creamy-textured with very rich fruit, excellent tannins, fine acidity and a very long aftertaste. Still very young. This is this winery's flagship wine and is an ultra-modern Rioja from one of the region's reknowned modernists.

Sweeter nose compared to the 2000 and va is less noticeable here, but fruit concentration is not as high. Fully mature.
