nose - wax, pit fruit mouth - chalky and minerally, initially somewhat restrained pit fruit with hints of iodine, over the night continued to unwind and improve.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Richebourg Grand Cru
nose - salt plum, savory, slightly sweaty sock mouth - earthy, complex, dark fruit. after 15 minutes in the glass this was absolutely singing revealing waves of dark fruit with a rich mature quality to it. notes of plum leather, asian spice, balsamic vinegar, and burnt sugar all appreciated. hoping for a last glimpse at the end of the evening, it was not to be, as everyone had finished their glass to the last drop. Many thanks to PB for this grand wine.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru
nose - raspberry, cherry mouth - lively, sexy spiced fruit, exhilarating and clean. Brian sensed a peppery quality. velvet mouthfeel. quite a polished feminine wine though made it a rather new world style. However, I dont see this acquiring much complexity
Thanks to big Mike for bringing this out. Purchased on release. Good god, in the early 90s the only think i was purchasing was binders and loose-leaf paper.
nose -savory, sois-bois, perfumed, wet hay, olive, sexy and very fragrant nose mouth - nicely integrated, very pure and still very fresh melange of red and dark fruits. absolutely classic. drink now or hold.
nose - exotic red berry. almost reminiscent of a body lotion. tad minty. whoa aromatic. mouth - fruit bomb. superbly pure fresh crushed berry. Something you might spread over buttered toast. confected.
