Lovely flavors of white flower, lemon, almond. None of the biscuit flavor you get in some champagnes. As usual for Lanson, great acidity. Drinking very easily now but I expect it will get even better with a few years.

A small gathering at Bryan's (Bryan's place): Medium expressive nose displaying perfectly ripe white and yellow fruit, granny smith, apple candy, lemon curd, a hint of brioche, light caramel, marzipan, slightly oxidative and limestone. Medium concentration, nicely layered sweet white fruit with a hint of red, very fine medium generous mousse, sweet and rich but also pure and fluid, bright acidity, medium limestone mineral, and a medium to long pure white fruit driven finish with marzipan at the end. This medium complex champagne shows excellent freshness, richness and purity. Drinking nicely.

Outstanding wine. Nearly perfect acidity. Reasonable full, lots of white fruits and citrus. Would be incredible in a decade, but having now sure seems like a shame to miss out on.

Amazing nose of lemon, honey, yellow fruit and brioche. Nice toast, not overpowering the other components. Good acidic backbone. Great length. Very beautiful wine.

Light golden/straw hue. Aromas of baked apple, honey, a touch of almond, and a mix of citrus fruits. Wonderful on the palate. Light to medium body, with a very fine mousse. Acidity is moderate and the dosage balances this well. All in all, I think this is in its youth. Enjoyable, but I look forward to it picking up more weight in the coming years.

Dinner at S.K.Y. (Chicago, IL): Imagine my surprise when I found out this was a BdB; there were so many rich oxidative notes on the nose and palate, as well as a really nice full richness that I assumed this was some sort of assemblage. In any case, it's not the first time I would've guessed wrong. There's a real sense of apple pie in this wine, which is super fun. It seems a little aged for a 2006 though -- this is certainly already in a great drinking spot.

A 100% Chardonnay. Very tight, compact, and miniature bubbles. Crisp and young with zesty lemon, orange marmalade, and some breadiness. A musty chalkiness runs through from start to finish. Needs several more years.

Light hue in the glass with a lot of bubbles. Fresh nose of hay and brioche. Slightly acidic on the palate. Nice for the first release.
