Typical wines from classic regions, a theme that was to tell how easy it is to tell where the wine was from. All participants brought at least 1 bottle each. All wines served blind. Each participant was to write down their guess of where the wine was from in order Country, Region, Subregion, Producer.
Tasted together with a foie gras based dish with brioche, portabello and sugar baked apple slices.
Last bottles, just for contemplation and pleasure.
It proved to be much harder than anticipated. Telling a different between US cabernet sauvignon from Bordeaux is not that easy.

Peat, earth, mature, nougat, oak, juicy, smoke, old fruit cellar, nice acidity that keeps it balanced, evaporating. Lovely.
