NV Pierre-Marie Chermette Crémant de Bourgogne 86 Points

Lemon zest, lightly toasted nose. Lightweight on the palate this has citrus notes throughout and a backbone of good minerals. A bit light for my taste, and a touch too much sugar as well.

This is Chermette's base level cuvee. It definitely stood out from the rest of the lineup as the most simple, basic, underwhelming effort of the night. Tons of red candy on the nose. I didn't like this one bit. Very simple, lots of sugar.

Nice perfumed nose of red fruits, florals and some minerals. Sadly, I drank this after eating some cured meats and the combination didn't work. No score.

Very stylish out of the gate. Dusty aromas of cherry, sous bois, and hints of cassis. Benefits from a solid mid-palate of red fruits and a acidic spine on the end.

Nice, complex nose of minerals, ripe strawberries, and dusty plums. Really attractive flavors of raspberries, spices, and firm minerals. Serious structure with a long finish.

Juicy fruit comes across on the nose with some fall leaves, and dusty cranberries. Became more complex over the course of the night and rounded into a nice wine. Finish develops nicely over time as well.

I really enjoyed this wine. Musky nose of dried cherries, violets, and spicy potpourri. Delicate mouthfeel with robust red fruit flavors, florals, and some mustiness. Lingering finish of dried fruits and soil. Very complex.

Big nose with cedar, red fruit, and plums. Big and supple wine with really sexy texture. Big plum aspect on the palate with a moderate finish. Not a ton of structure or complexity.

Didn't show well this time around for me. I was consuming this with some heavier meats that didn't mix well with it. Unlike the last bottle I had, this came across very simplistic and raw. Simple flavors of plums, raspberries and strawberries. Didn't have the complexity and structure like last time. Disappointing showing for me, but realistically the food pairing impacted my score.

Great nose of fresh raspberries, crushed rocks, and spices. Restrained bouquet of violets, dried roses, raspberries, and some herbs. Should continue to improve with some additional years as the finish is tannic and tight. Complex wine.

Drank on its own....yikes. Definitely mix this with wine or use on pancakes. Vile on its own.
