Popped and poured. Aroma of cherries and dirt. Forward maraschino cherry flavor that manages to be both sappy and tart at the same time. Tart grenadine finish. Distinctive, firm backbone, some complexity. Drinking really well right now.

Medium dark red with signs of maturity. Nose is stinky and slightly baked. Stink mainly dissipates but the brulle character continues to influence the nose and the palate. too bad. welcome to southern california.

This was lost in the cellar, and would have drunk it sooner. Less bright of fruit than a few years ago, earthier perhaps, but still very worthwhile and a good match for grilled country-style ribs with a light dry rub.

Beautiful nose showing crushed cranberries, cherry liquor, licorice, forest or pine notes as well. Noticeably French for sure. The wine is very elegant and is showing well, bursting with sour cherry, cranberry, with some wild berry mixing as well. It gains depth and intensity on the finish where herb flecked earthy terroir flavors emerge with that Beaujolais bitterness folding in nicely at the end. Perfect now, the wine has enough acidity and fruit to hold longer, maybe 2018-19 if you want to wait.
