  • The last of my 3 bottles, and this was the best showing by far. Good fruit, some earth and really nice acidity. GREAT wine for Thanksgiving.

  • Notes from day 2.
Dark red to light purple in color.
Nose of violets, black raspberry, spice, and herbs.
Palate of mixed raspberry, cranberry, fall leaves, and spice.
The finish was average in length and good acidity was noted.
Overall a really nice nose and a good solid wine.

  • Pretty old world taste for a new world wine. Definitely a little more bursting fruit than any Gamay from Burgundy I've ever had, with a fuller mouthfeel as well. Still, it's just a thin acidic Gamay which I'm simply not a fan of.

  • 2009 Beaujolais (Dino, Washington DC): Big nose with cedar, red fruit, and plums. Big and supple wine with really sexy texture. Big plum aspect on the palate with a moderate finish. Not a ton of structure or complexity.

  • Let me say I wanted to like this more. I had it out a at bar and enjoyed it without much reflection. However, after buying a bottle, I am a bit less enthusiastic. Firstly, it is good, classic Beaujolais Gamay, with spicy fruit notes and pure yuminess. However, the heat and the price do it in for me. For one, this is $22+ retail, and there is really good Beaujolais for that price (or less and 2% less alc or so). Secondly, while I got it at half that price and wanted to support OR, at 13.5% it is just hot, no way around it. My lips and throat are burning. Nice fruit and kudos for naturally occuring yeasts and the biodam-y, but I will have to pass on a second bottle. Many will like this anyway, so go for it.
