Very nice. Balanced. Great fruit. The acid is noticable (sweet and lively) but very much in harmony with the fruit.

Needs time. Rich and a little heavy.

Needs time. Very good now but somewhat out of balance. My guess is that this will be great with age.

Excellent. Rich and ripe. Lots of baby fat for sure but this should be great with time. Best of the three (*,**,***)

Rich, ripe passion fruit with a little spice thrown in. This is a great spat. I tasted this at the begining of the tasting and went back at the end just to make sure I really liked it. I did!!!

This was the only Kerpen I tasted. It was the thickest of all the wines tasted and very good but seemed to lack some acidity. Where are the pancakes?

Bottle may have been a little off. Some grapefuit, good acid and a little tart on the finish.

You can sure taste the acid in the 2004's. It adds a nice zip and freshness to some of the wines.

Some grapefruit. Tart. A little bigger but not a whole lot going on here.

2005 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese trocken 85 Points
Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
Different. This was clean and not bitter like so many of the dry Germans tasted. Well made if you like them dry.

2004 Selbach-Oster Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett
Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
Good, but I'm not a fan. It was one of the more complex kabs.

Great. Both the Rotlay and Schmitt are excellent. How can they be so sweet yet so light?
