Introduction

An interesting opportunity to compare the two Barton St Juliens. This confirmed what I took away from Linden's two verticals a couple of years ago - there is very little difference in absolute quality - the Langoa is a bit sweeter, softer, more obviously fruity, the Leoville more structured, more cedary. The young wines showed relatively better this evening, showing a freshness and bite that the older wines lacked.

Flight 1 - with Warm poached egg and salad of lentils (3 Notes)

Flight 2 - with Rabbit terrine (2 Notes)

Flight 3 - with Slow-cooked shoulder of lamb (4 Notes)

Flight 4 - with Cheese (3 Notes)
