Good colour, slightly translucent garnet fading to clear rim. What a nose WOW. Sweet fruit and mellow deliciousness. Did quite live up to the nose on the pallet. Bit closed when first poured but opened to mellow sweet mouthfilling flavour. Still good soft tannins and a long finish but maybe begining to fade.

The end of the 12 case. We’ve had a few corked ones, but mostly delicious aged claret, this time showing its mature mixed berry fruit along with settled and relaxed tannin. I wouldn’t say this has changed that all that much over the decade or so I’ve had it, despite some nervousness at points. I don’t think I would say no to another case of 12 really. A very solid claret.

Nothing to add to my previous note. Such an intense nose and still drinking beautifully. Will save my last bottle for a Langoa vertical when the 2010 is ready.
Same as before really. It has a lovely smooth raspberry ripple note despite the age, rounded off with faded cedar and a tannin dryness at the end. It’s very good though probably at the apex. Risky planning to cellar for a great deal longer so plan to drink over the next 3 years

Off-balance and pruney upon opening but calmed down over the course of an hour in the decanter and the glass. Nose of cassis jam, iron/blood, and green herbs. Dark red fruits in the mouth with still a fair amount of grip in the back. Some green notes, too, fading into the fruit. Lacks charm but hits the typical Bordeaux notes. Starting to fade so drink soon. Paired well with rare steaks with mustard and creme sauce.
