Flight 1 (9 Notes)

  • 2010 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne 98 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

    Light yellow color.
Nose is filled with “Tutti Frutti!”, exotic fruits, flint stone, light smoke, a hint of burnt rubber, some barrels, young fruit and a nice ripe sweetness.
On the palate there is an incredible freshness and amazing clean, pure fruit.
Lemon, lime, citrus acid, some secondary grapefruit and a hint of vanilla.
Great acidity, some oil and baby fat, dry and mineral filled finish that just goes on and on and on forever as it seems.
This is by far the best Bonneau I’ve had ( this far), it’s simply a stunning, perfect grand wine!

Nose is complex and developed, with orange peels, some green mature apples, hints of lemon and flint stone.
Palate is developed, closed first, but opened up in the glass during the evening.
Has a nice fat/oily texture, mature with honey sweetness, yellow and green apples, and a hint of vanilla on the finish.

  • 2010 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 93 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny

Light, quite transparent color on the rim.
When I first dip my nose in this glass, the first of tonight’s line up of Comte George de Vogüés 2010’s, I’m immediately stunned!
    My god!
Nose is full with minerals, stones, and pure raspberries.
Still young (of course), with a slight hint of barrels (that left after a while in the air).
The taste is filled with sour cherries & raspberries , beautiful tannins and an incredible length.
    So pure and expressive.
This is, without any doubt, the best village wine I ever had the pleasure to drink.
Amazing, and this is just the start!

  • 2003 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru 90 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

    Hot year, 2003.
I remember July, I had rented a house in Puerto Banus in Southern Spain for 14 days, but it was too hot to stay, so left after nine days to go back to a bit chillier Sweden!
This is something that shines thru in most Southern European wines from this vintage, and this is not an exception.
Color is deep dark red, with some sediments.
The nose is hot with alcohol and some over ripe cherries.
Palate is sweet and overripe, with cherry liquor, dry tannins and a short finish.
I get the impression that this wine has peaked, and will not get any better…?

  • 2010 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru 95 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

    Color is medium dark.
    An indescribable nose, just amazing!
I have never even near experienced such depth of the most perfect mature sunwarm raspberries!
Filled with mineral and stones too, just shouting out Chambolle!
The palate is also amazing, such depth already, so fresh and with clean transparent red fruit.
Terroir, minerals, acid and an amazing, almost never ending, length.
    Such a perfect balanced wine!
The grapes in this premier all comes from Musigny, from young (approx. 25 years) vines, and this 1:er beats allot of Musigny Grand Cru wines from other vintages and other producers.

  • 1998 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 95 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Musigny Grand Cru

    Med./dark ruby.
Young nose, with dark cherries and Musigny spice.
Cherries in the mouth, with minerals, good tannic backbone with medium/high acidity.
    Long finish with fantastic fruit.
    A very elegant Musigny.
This wine is still very prime and young, and will keep for many years to come.

  • 2010 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 99 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Musigny Grand Cru

    Color is medium/dark.
The nose is not as open as in the village or 1:er cru yet, but you can really inhale the amazing minerallity present in all the wines from 2010 tasted tonight.
Also, some pepper and the special Musigny spice.
In the mouth this wine is less open then it’s siblings, with silky tannins, some oiliness and baby fat, pomegranates, a touch of licorice.
Still young and a bit shut down, but oh so sensual, beautiful and terroir filled.
An amazing, breathtaking transparency and balance!
This might be the finest Musigny ever made in modern time!

  • 2010 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses 100 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

A wine, as young as this, and scoring the perfect score?
Yes, I can’t give it anything less , since this is perfection in a bottle.
This could be the best wine I have ever had. (and ever will?)
    Light red.
The breathtaking nose is just so amazingly pure, filled with Les Amoureuses terroir crushed rocks and minerals, orange peel, flowers and cherries.
Such a soft and gentle feminine wine this is!
It oozes with sensuality and pure sex.
This is a perfect specimen, everything is already in perfect balance in this wine, with the acidity and fruit (the most beautiful Pinot young cherries and cleanest raspberries ever experienced!) together with the minerallity just knitting this wine together to a perfect woven masterpiece.
This is so beautiful, I even sheered a tear when first smelled it.
The word perfection is the only way to describe this.
    100 points!

  • 2010 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Bonnes Mares 96 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru

    Darkest of tonights line up.
Also the densest and heaviest (in a good way!) of the wines.
Dark fruit, much darker than the other wines, with mature cherries and raspberries.
Perfect grippy tannins, with an amazingly clean profile and balance.
Great acidity and the minerals and the stoniness are just adorable.
Perfect structure in this wine, this will reach the stars and beyond.
More minerals present than I ever experienced in any wine from this vineyard in previous vintages and from any other producer.
Extremely Chambolle, more Musigny than Morey!
    I love this vineyard!
