Introduction

A very nice evening at the "Schwarzer Adler" with unique wines.

Flight 1 (1 Note)

Flight 2 (1 Note)

Flight 3 (1 Note)

  • 1991 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée St. Vivant 92 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru

My first DRC :) A very good Burgundy, but no epiphany :) Nose was very decent, good taste, complex, minerality, long finish. Still lots of Tannins, could age several more years.
Perfectly stored and served bottle, drunk out of Riedel "Fishbowl" Glass.
Nice wine, unique experience, but IMHO not worth the price tag...

Flight 4 - After dinner we decided to try another good bottle of this magnficent cellar... but unfortunately we underestimated it conditions... (1 Note)

  • 1994 Château Haut-Brion 85 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

Oh, what a surprise. We ordered a Half bottle, but the cellar of the "Schwarzer Adler" must be perfect. The bottle came out of the cellar as it was just filled and corked. Young, deep purple color, lots of cassis, no sign of ageing yet. Needs at least 10-20 years to ripen and develop complexity. Bad luck for us....
