    Palate: Concentrated cherry and intense acidity, bitter on the mid-palate. Minerals, stalks.
    Overall unbalanced.

  • 2009 Château Barde-Haut 94 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru

    Nose: Delicious and harmonic. Blackberries and coffee.
    Palate: Concentrated dark cherry/blackberry. Powerful heavy acidity and tannin structure.
    A lovely wine with a solid potential.

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

    Nose: Blackberry pulp with a little vanilla.
    Palate: Very primary, dark berries, super juicy and powerful structure. Lots of oak but evolves nicely in the glass.

    Nose: Sweet cherry jam, intense black pepper and lavender. Sexy nose.
    Palate: Creamy and enticing, harsh tannins, black currant sweetness, huge tannins.
    Perhaps a bit unstructured at the moment.

    Nose: A bit strange, dark plums, yoghurt, gunpowder, vomit, smoke.
    Palate: Dark plums, yoghurt, black pepper. Massive structure.
    A great wine!

    Nose: Black currants, liquorice, quite sweet, eucalyptus.
    Palate: Sweet and lovely creamy plum fruit. Very sexy and lovely. Juicy and beautiful.

    Nose: Quite restrained, sewer, green bell pepper, stalks.
    Palate: Sweet and creamy plum fruit, medium acidity.
    A little simple and boring but it does seem quite closed.

    Palate: Deep and full-bodied. Delicious black currant fruit. Creamy and medium intense.

    Nose: Sewer, dark plum, spices.
    Palate: Sexy and full-bodied plum fruit and a little vanilla. Great balance.
    Evolves really nicely in the glass and puts on a lot of weight.

    A beautiful young wine.

    Nose: Sweet, complex, young cherry liqueur, marzipan.
    Palate: Super juicy young plum fruit, tightly knit, crazy acidity, long impressive and spicy aftertaste.

  • 2009 Château Pontet-Canet 97 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

    Nose: Glue, concentrated cherry fruit, dark plum, deep liqueur note but still in a good way. Black pepper and coffee. Complex nose!
    Palate: Juicy young and very impressive young cherry fruit in a perfect balance. Slightly spicy. There is a little hint of liqueur which can turn out both good and bad.

    Nose: Sweet cherry sauce, lovely with plenty of flowers and a touch of green pepper. Sexy and spicy with a complex youthful expression.
    Palate: Super sexy sweet cherry fruit with a little oak influence. Some dried spices and a very long impressive aftertaste.

    Nose: Creamy coconut and glue. Warm blackberry fruit. Powerful.
    Palate: Extracted and concentrated dark plum fruit. Crazy powerful and intensity with a massive structure. Almost vulgar. Violent acidity.
    Good? Definitely a special wine.

  • 2009 Château Troplong Mondot 99 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru

    Nose: Eucalyptus and lots of coffee. A little restrained but you can almost feel all the exciting things in the background.
    Palate: Fresh acidic plum fruit and just a beautiful wine with a solid structure. Perfect balance. Some ink and shoe polish. An insane amount of tannins.
    A truly extreme wine.
