Really excellent; the palate is very concentrated with layers of lemons, sea salt and some oxidative, nutty tones; The finish just keeps going on and on; I fortunately tasted this after it had been open for several hours, as I understand it really evolved with some air
The palate here is densely packed and sweet, with tons of orchard fruit, honey and petrol backed up by some vibrant acidity; Never had this wine before, and I was impressed
Awfully delicious right out of the bottle, with a mature palate of dried red fruits, leather and earth that's really well integrated for such an old wine; I tried it again after letting it sit in the glass for a couple hours, and the fruit had started to fade
A real stunner of a wine, and makes me realize that I need to drink more German riesling; Intensely concentrated fruit and sweetness, with an insanely long finish; Still very young, but drinking really well right now
Really hard to assess, because I had it right out of the bottle with no decant; There's a lot of nice red fruits on the dense palate, but it's not yet integrated and hasn't developed any interesting secondary or tertiary aromas to complement the fruit; Needs more time, or at least a lot of air
A very big wine, with an overpowering amount of red and dark fruits with softening tannins on the finish; Fans of this style will probably like this more than me, but even with nearly 20 years of age I found it to be too over the top
I preferred the 1964 Rioja I tried at the auction, although this did have some mature and pretty tones of dried red fruit, leather and tobacco; Very drying tannins on the finish
Another delicious riesling; palate is packed with stone fruits, honey and some floral notes, and the acidity on the back-end balances out the sweetness quite well
Very elegant and herbaceous, with a slightly stemmy profile that I nonetheless enjoyed; There is some mature red and dark fruit and earth undertones on the palate, but I don't think this is going downhill anytime soon
The nose has some nice Northern Rhone typicity, with notes of bacon fat and pepper. The palate was a bit monolithic, with a big wave of dark fruits that wasn't entirely integrated. I've had better showings of this wine before, and I think this needed more air to open up. No rush to open my other bottles.

A solid showing, with a elegant palate of pears, apples and brioche; Still needs some time to open up and fully reveal itself

Big and oaky, with tons of butter, cream and vanilla on the dense palate; The acidity is lacking, suggesting this is past its prime

Past its prime, although the palate still has some pretty apple, pear and citrus flavors, although it kind of falls apart on the finish for me
