  • 2000 Giacomo Borgogno & Figli Barolo Riserva Classico 90 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

The bouquet is very mature with coffee, celery, lovage, caramel and some fennel. On the palate also mainly tertiary flavors. Chocolate, coffee, butterscotch, cinnamon, autumn forest floor and some barnyard. Mild acidity and soft tannin. Good length. There was a lot of deposit in this bottle. I have the impression this bottle was close to the end of its life, but with Barolo’s of this type, you never know. I scored it 90 for tonight.

  • 2005 Château de Rayne-Vigneau 91 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes

Just some short notes. In the bouquet apricots and pineapple. On the palate apricots and pineapple as well, a firm amount of sweetness, nicely balanced by good and fresh acidity. Elegant wine with a good length. The pleasant thing is that this wine still has its youthful freshness.
