  • Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2015-09; Classical Italian wines (By HV and FB): In the bouquet dark berries and dark cherries, some truffle, earth, good oak and a touch of pleasant barnyard. On the palate dark forest fruits, chocolate, soft acidity and mild tannin. A touch of pleasant sweetness as well. Good length. Beautiful wine and ready now and the next few years.

  • Drank over two days. Translucent brick red, orange tinged edges.

Captivating bouquet! Cherry, strawberry, mushroom, truffle, damp forest floor, subdued and appealing Burgundy, Bordeaux, Sangiovese, Languedoc-Roussillon like funk, and medicinal hints. Worth lingering over, difficult to quit smelling.

Wonderful refinement on the palate, light body. Luxurious attack reminiscent of aged Burgundy, gourmet, earthy. Lush, dusty, full mid-palate, unsweetened Cherry compote, mushroom, charcutrie, raw red meats. Tuscan-like, dusty minerality. Exceptionally juicy finish, with massive, yet refined, dusty tannic grip the back, which also causes a mouthwatering sensation on the inner cheek and under the tongue. Long, mouth-coating finish. Integrated oak, beautifully balanced.

Without question the best Barbaresco I have tasted. Drinking beautifully now, with several years of life ahead of it.
